In addition to client work, 77 Communications is involved in social innovation, with a focus on diversity, culture and civic engagement. 77 Communications is currently developing the Innoversity Summit: Diversity & Democratic Engagement (Download brief).
Held in Toronto in 2010, the Innoversity Summit™ is a non-partisan event which will bring together governmental departments and agencies, political parties, think-tanks and academics with thinkers, leaders and social entrepreneurs from Canada’s diverse cultural communities. Innoversity’s goal is for attendees to share ideas and best practices which will help shape initiatives, programs and policy related to democratic engagement and Canada’s rich cultural diversity.
Innoversity is a not-for-profit organization with a record of public service focused on increasing involvement of diverse communities within key facets of Canadian life. Building upon 8 years of success as an agent of change in increasing cultural diversity within the media industry, and applying its successful methodology of showcasing best practices, enabling insight and providing access points between disparate groups of people, the Innoversity Summit will help to inspire and sustain change by bringing together key leaders and decisions makers and providing useful, actionable information.
